As a Payment Solutions Specialist , you'll play a key role in supporting student success by helping learners navigate tuition payments and account balances. Your work will directly impact student satisfaction, retention, and graduation outcomes by providing clear, proactive solutions to financial challenges. The Specialist will assist in the overall accounts receivable functions of the Bursar Office, using a proactive and creative approach to payment plans, student account solutions, and receivables.

What You'll Do

  • Communicate with students using multiple channels to resolve tuition balance concerns
  • Assist students with setting up and managing payment plans
  • Troubleshoot payment and account issues with empathy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to complete daily processes
  • Manage all communications related to tuition payments and account balances
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from students and colleagues
  • Provide clear, supportive guidance to students navigating financial processes

What You'll Bring

  • Associate’s Degree
  • 1 year of experience in student accounts, finance, or accounting, preferably in higher education
  • 1 year of experience with Excel, reporting, and analysis
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle high call volumes and demanding situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with student information systems such as Banner
  • Familiarity with federal financial aid regulations

Experience In Lieu Of Education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.
